Lillian's Story
Life
I am still single and liking it that way,as I own my own home, have my health and I'm still working. I'm thankful for this. Most of all I still have my sense of humor which gets me through anything. It MUST (re-read the part about working in the first sentence). I sometimes look back and regret some of the things I did growing up but realize that I can't change the past, only the present and future. Though it did help me become the person I am which I do like. I'm outgoing, sincere, caring and a lot of fun to be around. I look at the cliques everyone is in in HS and see how sad it is that there was so much to be learned from other people not in those cliques that we all missed. I believe in the idea of making lemonade if life hands you lemons and I think it would be awesome if "fireflies twinkled in different colors". Of course we don't have these in Arizona but it would be cool to see when I visit my sister still in Indiana. Living in Phoenix has brought me a sense of peace in my life (except when I'm stuck in rush hour traffic). I miss the seasons back in Indiana but I believe I would miss the mountains and incredible sunsets more if I would ever move back. I get to visit most of my old friends yearly but there is one that I've lost touch with so if anyone ever sees or hears from Mike Maddock please have him contact me. I have a listed phone number so he can call me collect....Expand for more
I'm on Ross Ave. We were always very close through Jr High and HS and after but life pulled us different directions. I got to visit Valpo recently and it sure has changed. I still love the park on the corner of Harrison and Campbell and I saw my old house was up for sale. Sure wish I could afford two homes as i would buy it just so I could have family events there again. Besides the memories I had in that house were ones that I would love to visit again.
School
I went to a lot of elementary schools, (Kouts, LaCrosse, Parkview, Northview and Memorial in Valpo IN)Ben Franklin Jr High and Valparaiso High. I also attended Ivy Tech for an Accounting degree. Got my Millwright certificate from Bethlehem Steel. Now I just live life and I still learn something new every day.
College
I attended Ivy Tech in Valparaiso and Gary Indiana. Majored in Accounting and English and Minored in Marketing. Due to being a laid off steel worker I managed to get a grant but I had to go full time as well as work full time in another job. Kept the grades up though and it has helped a lot in my current position.
Workplace
In Valpo IN I worked at Indiana General, Orville Redenbachers/Hunt Wesson, Acme Fireworks and in Michigan City it was Parco Foods. Came to Arizona and was hired by some small companies before hiring at Discover Card in 1995. I'm an Admin Asst (secretary) and I really love my job.
