my faith, trust and love of God- and His love for me... Everything else- well it's just a whole exciting world out there. Here are a few things that sum it all up:
Psalm 23 The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not be in want. He makes me to lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, He restores my soul....
The Lord is the strength of my life. I love Him with all of my heart. When I get distracted with life's difficulties, concerns or fun, and forget my truest friend, He is gentle, faithful, and loving when I return. He always loves me, and I will worship Him forever.
I used to think it would be impossible to be one of His servants in heaven worshiping Him day and night forever, but through the years, I have come to understand that it is not possible to do anything else, when I see the depth of His love for me.
The book of Ecclesiastes brings my viewpoint home. It is well known as a pessimistic outlook, though I do not see it that way. I realize the things of this life are for a time, and all things will come to and end except friendship with God, and the things I must do while here need to be focused on their eternal value. Near the end it brings the message home: "Fear God and keep His commandments, for this is the whole duty of man." And what are those commands? 1. Love God 2. Love your neighbor as you love yourself. ...working on it! Working on it! 'Til the day I die! Loving God... well, that's the easy part. Loving other becomes easier as time progresses. Why? Because the love of God being shown to the world is the greatest gift I could give to another.".
