Linda's Story
Life
I started out life living in the wonderful countryside of Millis, Massachusetts. Our rented acreage had childhood wonderlands on all sides. The Charles River ran the length of one side, with a cranberry bog, blueberry fields, and one neighbor one the other three sides. It was a great place for me to be between the ages of 1-13.
After a summer of visiting my motherÂs relatives throughout Kansas, we voted on moving to Lawrence. As a budding teenager I was looking for new friends and things to do.
Central Jr. High was my first introduction to school in Lawrence. Being new in town and 13 was awkward at best, but I soon found friends and tried my best to lose the ÂBostonian accent.
Moving on to Lawrence High School was a much easier transition than my first year at C.J.H. High School was so much fun with all the electives that were available. I loved biology, P.E., and Intro to Computers. Plus there were new friends from ...Expand for more
other junior high schools to be made, and dating was around the corner.
My sister, Marsha, and I went to Kansas State Teachers College in Emporia, Kansas. I went for 1.5 years working towards a degree in business and computers, and Marsha graduated with a degree in the arts. The college environment was a little too stressful for me, so I dropped out and found work back in Lawrence.
For 18 years I worked for the University of Kansas in their Computer Center before my urge to make a change in my life landed me in Florida.
Ahhh, Florida. Now I could windsurf the beautiful waters of the Gulf of Mexico all year long. I met lots of new people, experienced hurricanes  found Terry, my husband, and learned how to SCUBA dive. Since then, Terry and I have traveled far and wide to dive and photograph the wonders of the deep.
I hope to see my L.H.S. friends this September for our 40th year class reunion. Has it really been that long?
