Linda's Story

Life 45 is just around the corner. Another speed limit reached and life just keeps going faster and faster. I have 4 children; Tim - 22, Amy - 21, Patty - 14, and Chucky - 12. I also have 3 grandchildren; Kloe - 3, Trinity - 3 (not twins, Kloe is Amy's and Trinity is Tim's), and Ashlyn - 9 months. I finally got the horse I always dreamed of having 4 years ago. She is a Morgan-Arabian (Morab) and is now 13 years old. A beautiful bay, who thinks she is more dog than horse. She gives kisses (with her lips - not licking) and she shakes hands. Her name is Wyndee Midnight. I am working at D.C. Cook Nuclear Plant in the Document Control department. I specialize in Corrective Actions. One thing I am absolutely certain of, is that engineers do not know how to count pages. I just completed my Bachelor's Degree in Project Management last August. None of my 149 credits from ILC would transfer, so I had to start as a freshman. I tested out (CLEP)of all but the minimum required classes for their Associates Degree and completed the Associates Degree in 5 months. ng the two kids I have remaining at home. My two sons have both been diagnosed with Retinitus Pigmentosa, a degenerative eye disease inherited from my side of the family. Tim is already legally blind, with only about 20% of his vision field remaining. Chucky, while having a larger visual field, does not process light very well, so really struggles to see in dimly lit areas. BOth boys are participating in an eye study in Dallas, TX to test DHA - an enzyme the body naturally produces by breaking down other enzymes. So, this is natural treatment, rather than chemical. The study is a double blind (excuse the pun) study, where they have a placebo group and a group actually getting the DHA - and even the doctor's in the study don't know who is getting which. Only the group that provides the Capsules knows this. Both boys have had positive eye appointments (showing improvement in vision) this summer. Being a grandma is way more fun than being a parent, and I love it. If you don't have any grandchildren yet, you have a great time coming. If you don't have children yet, I recommend you just borrow someone else's and give them back when they get unruly. Linda (Breutzman) McClernan
