Linda's Story
Life
Graduated in 1956; worked 30 years for State Government; started as a secretary and ended up Personnel Officer with the
State Department of Military on Sidco Drive (National Guard Armory). Worked in several departments of State government, i.e. Human Services, Energy Office, Public Health, Transportation and Military. Married an attorney and lived in Nashville with him for 32 years until his demise in 1999. Moved to Bristol in 2000. Sister has been living here for the past 40 years. Have a 1950's house near her that faces the Appalachian Mountains with a fantastic, panoramic view of the mountians. Am totally occupied with family, church and volunteer activities. I've had triple by-pass surgery and feel better than I have in years (quit smoking too). Attended last year's (2004) Reunion and it was just great. Have one step-son who lives in Michigan; no children nor grand children, but have two great nephews - six and 3 who are the joy of my life. Can't believe it's been almost 50 years!!!

I'm still in Bristol. Had planned to add my photo, but my computer died last month and I had not saved all my pictures - I do regret it as I had Class Reunion pictures on it. Plus family and friends. Oh well!
Had my 71st birthday last month - as you know 70 is now the new 50!!! I love it. I'm in good shape - for the shape I'm in. Still busy with volunteer work, church and community and still miss my friends at school and in Nashville. I have several E-mail buddies from Cumberland and would love to hear from more of you. Those were the formative years and it's so easy to get back to 'then' and you can pick up a conversation from 50+ years ago.
