Linda's Story
After high school I went to college for one year and then entered the work force. I married in 1973 and divorced in 1993. I am currently retired and still dreaming about living in a cottage by sea and writing.. I have traveled to 13 of the 50 states and hope to visit more when I can. I love the beach, movies, rainy days and anything from the 1950's and 1960's.
My biggest crush was on Jay Kingsbury in 6th grade. He once gave me a bracelet and my mom made me return it because she thought I was too young to accept a gift from a boy. I will never forget the crushed look on his face when I gave it back.
The teacher that inspired me most was Mrs. Anderson in 8th grade. She encouraged me to keep writing (which I still do) and told me to remember ...Expand for more
always "to thine own self be true".
If I could do it all over again would I? Of course I would but I'd make some definite changes!
College days were fun (except for the studying and tests) and I had two great roommates. It was great living away from home and having some independence. Once we stayed out past curfew and had to climb in one of the windows of our dorm so we wouldn't get in trouble. Our room had a noisy old radiator that made us laugh (and somewhat irritated when trying to sleep) so we drowned it out by playing records or the radio most of the time.
I had my own business for 20 years making novelty badges, which allowed me to use my creative skills. I still enjoy making greeting cards, invitations and hand-writing personal letters.
