Linda's Story
Life
Danny Caffrey (HPRHS Class of 1989) and I bought a townhouse in Falcon Ridge, Hamburg, NJ in April of 2000. Danny popped the question the day we moved while I was cleaning one of the bathrooms...very romantic! And we married that October. The following month, we adopted a pure white, blue-eyed crooning kitty we affectionately named Sinatra.
Our daugher (Alexis) was born in May of 2003 and we bought a townhouse in Franklin Meadows, Franklin, NJ that November. We built a house in Montague, NJ, and we hope to stay for a while!
A week before our daughter's 3rd birthday, we adopted a golden eyed, black kitty from CLAWS Rescue, named Willie who we re-named Will Smith.
College
After completing a certificate program July 1992 at Gibbs School in Montclair, NJ, I attended Sussex County Community College to purse my Associates degree and graduated in the Spring of 1994.
I attended Dental Assisting School January 2015.
Workplace
I continued to work at the A&P in Sussex until the Spring of 1993 and during the summers I commutted down to Howmedica in East Rutherford, NJ. The fall of 1993 I was hired as a part-time secretary for a survey company in Fredon, NJ and also had an opportunity to do some field work.
In August of 1994, I was hired part-time with Selective Insurance in Branchville, NJ. After 8 months, I was hired as a full-time Customer Service Representative in Claims. Promoted to Personal Li...Expand for more
nes in the fall of 1996, where I was one of two Secretaries to 4 AVPs and the VP of that department. Two months later, I was given the opportunity to work solely with the Assistant to the Marketing Director of Personal Lines. I closed the Selective chapter Fall 2001 in the Accounts Department as an Analyst.
Key Environmental in Andover, NJ was my next stop, where I was the Assistant to the VP, the Director of Sales, as well as worked closely with the Director of Waste. I managed the Container Department as well as the Project Board up until I became pregnant.
While pregnant with Alexis in February of 2003, I was a floater for Sussex County Community College. Three months after the birth of my daughter, I went back to SCCC to work in the Registrar's Office while one of the full-timers was out on disability. A permanent part-time position became available in the Office of Recruitment and Admissions, where I assisted the Associate Director.
The Fall of 2005, I was given the opportunity to be a part of SCCC history with the inaugaral season of the college dance team The Skydancers...some things just never change!
I worked in the A&P Pharmacy for 7 years and needed a change and worked for Precision Medical Billing for about a year when they downsized.
While attending Dental Assisting classes, I was offered a position to assist one of the two dentists at Family Smile Center located in Milford, PA.
