Linda's Story
Life
Born in 1955 at Wright-Patterson A.F.B. to Daryl and Toyoko White. Being the child of an serviceman we were transferred every 1-3yrs. I've lived in 7 different states growing up. I've met alot of different people which helped to define me as an individual. I met my husband at
Brandon High in 1973. We were married in 1974. Started public work in 1975. Have birth to my son, Jason in 1978. Stayed at home w/Jason till 1982. Went back to public work 1982. Started college in 1990 at night. Graduated in 2000. Thinking about going back to nursing school. I've worked at the Methodist Rehab Center since 1984. Finally got to go to Japan for a month w/my mom to visit her relatives(2003). Hope to go back for a visit w/my husband. I also would like to travel to Europe and take a cruise. We hope to retire in the Smoky Mountains. Only about 20 more years to go unless I went the Publisher Sweepstakes.

College
Began my college life after my son was in 8th grade which was in the fall of 1990. Went to night school at Holmes Community College in Ridgeland, MS.
Graduated w/honors with my associate in arts in May of 2001. It took a long time to finish but was well worth it. Made alot of new friends and loved the challenge. I'm even thinking about going back to get my bacholors degree or go on to nursing school.
Workplace
Began my working career in May 1975.
I first worked part-time at a loan office answering the phone and getting credit reports for loans. From 1975 to 1978 I worked full time for Howard's Pharmacy as a cashier/clerk and received my first promotion to head cashier/pharmacy assistant. I resigned in March of 1978 to have a baby. I then sold Tupperware part-time for about 2 years from 1980-1982. I began my next full time job working for Standard Stationer's from 1982-1984.
On October 4, 1984 I began working at the Methodist Rehabilitation Center. This is my current employer. My first position here was purchasing clerk and now I'm the purchasing agent.
