Linda's Story
Life
Been married for 25yrs, have one daughter that 13yrs and her name is Mary, We have been living in New Hamspire for 17yrs and love every moment of this states, I come back to my home town once a year to visit family and some friends that are left. but life been great.
School
I graduated from Southmoreland High School in 1979, I had a great time in school and enjoyed all the teachers I think I best class I enjoyed was English class with Mr. Clara he made the class very instersting.
Workplace
Well when I got out of the service I landed a job with the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard for 5yrs and then they closed down my job. So I got a job with a local newspaper and work there for 5yrs also then the paper got sold to another company and a lot of us from the orignal paper went elsewhere. e a stay home mom for sometime to enjoy my daughter. Now since I daughter is a little older now (10yrs and 5th grade) I decided was time to get back with the workforce.
Well I went back to the workforce since my daughter is a teenager now and in junior high. I'm working for the United State Post office for the last 4 years.
Military
The time I spent in the Military was great I seen alot of great places and did meet alot of great people but I guess the only thing I was not happy with was when we were call over to work on the USS STARK after it was fired upon by an Iraq Military Jet in the Perisan Gulf back in 1987, after seeing the ship torn apart from the missle and going aboard the ship and seeing what had happen and smelling the remaining burnt flesh I had enough of war time. The crew that I was with was great and if I had to do it all over again I would still join the service.
