Linda's Story
Life
I left Texas in 1968 with my first husband and lived in Washington, D.C. and Colorado. I married my second husband, David, in Colorado in 1973, and we have a daughter, Melody. We moved to Georgia in 1988 - David is in construction, I work at an animal hospital (after many years of office work and then of being a homemaker), and our daughter is an elementary school counselor in Augusta, Ga. In February 2003 Melody and her husband, Brent (who is in dental school in Augusta), will make us grandparents for the first time. We are very much "homebodies", and most of our time revolves around the constant stream of animals we've had over the years - the current count being four dogs, two cats, and one cockatiel, plus the rescue transports that come through on occasion. a year to see my Dad, but have never thought to look up anyone from high school as so many years have passed, and the high school reunion never seems to coincide with my visit!
June 2007: We now live in northwest Georgia, one exit away from Chattanooga, TN. off I-75. We have two grandsons, Garrett (4) and Conner (20 mos.). I've been babysitting them for the past two and a half years, but will have to get a real job in June as my daughter quit her job to be with her boys while they're still young. We're down to three dogs and three cats, all but one being senior citizens (one cat is 21 years old!) I never come to Dallas anymore, as I had to have my dad moved here in Nov. 2006 when he was kicked out of his nursing home. He has alzheimers, and is in a nursing home ten minutes from our home.
