Linda's Story

Hi :-) You might remember me as Lynn. My 6th grade teacher, Mr Avera hung that name on me because he had too many Lindas in his class. He also said you could get pregnant dancing to Elvis Presleys music :-/ That's not true, I never got pregnant and all I did was dance ;-p I always wanted to be a Singer/Dancer/Musician/Artist when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a show off idea. As it turns out, they were right. Blow off steam? Yoga Gotta do it or I'll blow my top :-) Wildest thing I ever did in school? I'm not telling, but the craziest thing I did was walk around the cafeteria building late at night , calling "John John come out John" If I'm going to work somewhere, I need to have clear mind, sense of humor, and a little expereince to be able to deal with the day-to-day. My Mother is my hero/heroine. She is my inspiration. I've lived here most of my life, but had I've lived in Charlotte and in Half Moon, New York. The 2 people from my past who I'd most like to see again is Linda Emmett and Becky Fish, because they were/are my best friends.. But there are so many more. Music is my obsession. I don't think that surprises anyone who has ever known me. My biggest surprise in life??Lately it was singing on stage with Robin Rogers...Not so much a surprise, but a dream come true. If I could improve my home, I'd remodel all of it in Fung Shui and add on a pool , a theater, a gym, with a ballet bar and an oceanfront. My dream home would be cool. I have a step daughter. I learned from her what it means to be a Mother. If I could, I'd like to see Mr Moore, Ms. McKitrick, Ms. Lewis..Mr Hughes.... (can't spell now, but I was pretty good at spelling back in the day) and I'd like to see Mr Avera just so I could tell him he can go ahead and dance, h...Expand for more
e simply will not get pregnant!!! If I won $100 million, I'd give a bunch of it to Bethlehem and Flint Groves churches, then spend the rest on charities, friends, the homeless, people in need, family and me. Oh, I'd have a huge concert, with Stevie Nicks, Mothers Finest, Robin Rogers, Eric Clapto, Bad Company....well just a whole lotta players and singers :-) and I'd invite everyone. My current age is 58. When I was 12, I thought that people my age now would be dead. I was so completely out of it. My best friend would tell you I'm fun and caring and a little intense, that I walk on the edge, but people who don't know me very well would probably describe me as too serious. I share my home with no one...My cat allows my Mother and me to live here as long as we pay the bills and bring white plastic bags of Kitten Caboodle and tuna in, which I find alright since I don't wanna be homeless.. I'd make better life decisions if I had it to do over. In 10 years, I hope to be getting a face lift. I'm going to get there by winning the lottery. My oldest friend that I am constantly in touch with is Cathy Brittain, we met at Flint Groves. She, her sister Vicky my friend Becky, and all the guys in East Gastonia just clicked...We had a lot of fun at Groves Gym and made lasting memories. What about you would surprise everyone at your high school reunion? SHOWING UP :-/ My first job was at The Webb Theater, where I got paid 1.00 an hour to be the box office girl. I sold tickets :-). What I remember most about it is the guys I worked with, Joe White and Roy and the looooooooooog line when Gone With The Wind was playing.. A childhood memory I won't forget??? I guess singing on the auditorium stage with Charleen Morton and Linda Norris.....The song was, The Lords Prayer.
