Linda's Story
New beginnings! Now in Paducah, Kentucky! Hope to be here for at least a few years. The town has the old downtown area which is revitalizing, and the west side is all the newer area with plenty of shopping and restaurants. The downtown riverfront is very nice, and there are recreation areas and resorts all over this part of western Kentucky. Have already met a lot of really great people, and plan on meeting even more!
My mom passed away March 14, 2008 after a brief illness, and as many know, such an occurrence can cause one to reconsider the path of his/her life, I chose to leave my career in Atlanta and move with my husband wherever his job takes us. I began studying the japanese art of Reiki in 2010 and am now an Animal Reiki Practitioner. Reiki is the art of using the energy within and around us to promote calm and healing. Most people know it as "Therapeutic Touch", which is becoming much more common in hospital settings, especially in cancer centers. I have chosen to use this energy for helping animals deal with their issues. I started my studies at Horse Haven of Tennessee (a non-profit horse rescue facility) which has embraced the use of Reiki in helping its neglected and abused animals better cope with their new lease on life and to put their past behind them. I am able to work with any animal (including the human animal!) and believe that helping in this capacity is truly a blessing!
