Linda's Story
Life
I was the Manager of Insight Optical, the Optical Store for Brandywine Eye Center. My husband passed of a massive heart attack March 4th 2010 and I have been replaced at work, so I can get grief councelling. I am Certified by the American Board of Opticianary. I also am a living history professional selling eyewear to 18th and 19th century living history interpreters. I had been a belly dancer working at the Mideast Restaurant in Philadelphia, Pa. I had my own entertainment co and worked as magician, and clown and ventriloquist. Recently I started woodworking as a wand maker( Harry Potter inspired me)
I have two children...Albert and Kathryn. Kathryn has her PHD in Chemical Engineering and works at Los Alamos laboratory site, and Albert is a sales rep. for a canopy company, jumping out of perfectly good airplanes as often as he can, he has a BA in business and accounting. This past year he went to Sydney Australia to compete for the World Cup, in skydiving.
My fantastic husband, Lee Jennings, was the historian for Delaware State Parks, pre-Linda he was production manager for Blood Sweat and Tears.. he had been very active in production work and we get to see lots of places I'd never dreamed of because of his side jobs.We had a 27 lb tuxedo cat and two little bunnies one is a lion head (looks like a furby on steroids)When Our cat passed we adopted two to make up the weight that used to stand on us....Actually Wuss would not let us have anything else b...Expand for more
ut rabbits...and would be very lonely if we went away, so two keep each other company. Mr Wiggins is a large white long haired domestic and Bernie is a red fox colored Maine Coon.
When I married Lee I gave up my cockatiel, since his passing I have acquired a gorgeous cockatoo. His name is Horatio, and does he love to dance! I have lost 4 pounds dancing with the bird, guess he is my private trainer!
I attended Trenton State College for 1 yr, Perth Amboy gen hosp Sch of nursing 1 Yr then did on the job training at Prudential for IBM Sys 3 15 D, ran that for Vineland Labs until children were born, 1977 started my own singing telegram company (Crazy Critters) became a professional Belly dancer and opened Ayesha Enterprises, remarried 1991. Since then I have worked in lab making lenses for eyewear at Pearle, and for First State Labs,Also for various doctors as whatever they required, culminating in the certification in 2005.
I went to Trenton State College for one year and did not know that I could go to summer session to bring up my GPA so then tried Nursing School, but got emotionally involved with every patient I was assigned to, now I take courses for fun, and continuing education credits and study history and Abigail Adams as much as I can, My husband and I portrayed, John and Abigail at 18th century soire's and did an admirable job if I do say so.Since his passing a new living history group has been started, of which I am on the board, Recreating History.
