Linda's Story
I left NHS after sophomore year, went away to school for junior year and then entered college (Skidmore) in what would have been senior year. So my NHS experiences were limited. After college, I went to Columbia U graduate school in Nursing Education and taught nursing at the hospital and university level. I worked for many years as a staff educator and as a psychiatric therapist at Cambridge Health Alliance
After years in NYC and then many years in Cambridge. I now live in Brookline MA
I retired 6 years ago and spend a fair amount of time volunteering: local food pantry, ESL groups, and occasionally giving flu shots for Brookline Health Department. I volunteer in political campaigns, most recently for Elizabeth Warren and, for a couple of days, I collected signatures for a ballot quest...Expand for more
ion in MA to expand the bottle bill.
My two adult sons, one daughter-in-law and two small granddaughters live in Portland OR so I spend a fair amount of time there One son is an architect and the other is an independent computer system designer (software packages for running small businesses). I am very proud of them, like them a lot, and am delighted that they seem to like me!
Divorced about 20 years ago, I have been with my partner for almost 13 years. He's a golfer so we spend parts of the winter near Sarasota FL. I've been traveling more since retiring and recently (Nov '13) spent 3 weeks in Peru traveling semi- independently with a friend.
Of course there is more - we've all had long lives- but this is the quick version.
