Linda's Story
Life
I'm a classic Navy brat, born in Memphis, TN, ended up in Northern CA. Married since 1987. Ian (my husband) was born in Dothen Alabama because his Dad served in the Vietnam war and was stationed there, but Ian's a 4th generation hometown boy, here in Northern CA. His family roots run very deep. In true brat fashion, I've lived in Mississippi (1 year), Hawaii (6 years), Maryland (3 years), Florida (3 years), and Japan (1 year), with short stints in Tennessee (again), and Texas. I've made many good friends and lost contact with most of them, so this is a cool forum to try to hook up with long lost friends. I have my own bookkeeping business. No children yet, but 5 dogs and 2 cats, all rescue animals except for my terrier, Mulligan.
School

n the military, most of them were what I call civilian schools. The one in MD was the most progressive and had the best curriculum, I think, but my freshman year at Camp Zama HS in Japan was the most fun. Camp Zama students were all military kids, so they were open and accepting of everyone. I had a blast just being in Japan. My mom became ill, so we were transferred stateside to Alameda NAS. We lived in Pittsburg, and my Dad retired there. I graduated from Pittsburg HS, managed to get my college apps in on time and was accepted into USC as an english major. Somehow I thought my job was done and subsequently didn't apply for any scholarships, so I actually went to Diablo Valley College for a couple of years. I've ended up in the Sonoma Valley with an A.A. from the local j.c., and an occasional online class.
