Linda's Story
Life
Hmmm. Well, I set some goals when I left JHS to be a choir director in a high school...and at our ten year reunion, I was exactly that! Along the way, I got married in 1986,and in 1990 had my wonderful son, Andrew, who is now 13. The marriage was not a happy one, and we were divorced in 1997. After a couple of years of staying with my HS teaching job in Michigan following the divorce, I decided that I needed to start life over again, and found a job posting online for a full-time Director of Worship & Music at a Lutheran church in Highlands Ranch, Colorado. So I applied and was hired. Andrew and I moved to CO in the summer of 1999, and have been here since. WE LOVE IT OUT HERE! It's so beautiful; the mountains are spectacular (we live in the foothills of the Rockies...suburb of Denver), and the sun shines 300 days out of the year, believe it or not! I only worked at the church for 2 years....decided that I needed a less 24/7 job, and I missed teaching. I'm now at Coyote Creek Eleme...Expand for more
ntary in Highlands Ranch...about 3 minutes from our house. Andrew is in 8th grade, and is wayyyyy taller than his mom! He's a musician too...one heck of a drummer...plays in his own three-piece band and is the lead drummer for our rock band at church called Crossroads. Workplace
I have been teaching music now for 17 years. Wow! That's a long time!! I have worked with all levels of kids, kindergarten through seniors in high school...loved it all. I'm currently working with elementary age kiddos, and really enjoy it! I also have my own business....I'm an Independent Beauty Consultant with Mary Kay Cosmetics, and love that too! MK has given me the opportunity to meet a lot of great people and earn extra money...and I'm just about ready to earn my first Mary Kay car! Anyone out there reading this want to join my MK team? We're the "Sassy Supremes", and we'd love to have you!! *heehee*
