Linda's Story
After graduation from KHS I moved to the San Francisco Bay Area for a year, then to Redding,CA where I got my AA in Theatre Arts from Shasta Community College. I met my husband, Alan James, there. We were married and lived in San Francisco for an eventful year. I attended SF State during the riots, and we had our first son,Scott, Al joined the USAF, and we were off to Oklahoma for his flight school. He was stationed in New Jersey where our second son, Eric, was born; and I got my BS in Speech Path from Trenton State. We were transferred to Travis AFB in ' 74 and have been here in Fairfield ever since. I was an elementary school teacher for 34 years. Twenty-five of those years I taught Special Ed students. munity theatre and going to the gym. We have a cabin south of Breckenridge, CO. Colorado has the best bike trail system; and, of course, skiing is pretty darn good! I've traveled a bit. Great Britain is my favorite destination. Driving the tiny C roads is always an adventure. The Safari in Kenya and Tanzania that I gave myself for retirement was wonderful. Seeing the terra cotta warriors and The Great Wall in China were also very special. Alan took me to Tahiti years ago, but after over 40 years as a pilot, he won't travel with me. All of my other trips are with friends. I keep busy by serving on the board of our retired teacher association, Wednesday Club, going to the gym, theatre, and two book groups.
