Linda's Story

Hi everyone. In 1968 the Johnston family moved from High Falls to Shalalth,BC. I attended Lillooet Secondary for one year, worked at the Bank of Commerce in Lillooet, BC from 1969 to 1972. My daughter, Trudy was born in 1972. In 1973 I started working for BC Hydro in Shalalth and retired in 2007. My husband, Mike, a Tsal'alh community member, worked for BC Rail for 32 years and retired in 2004. We moved back to Lillooet in 2008 and then in 2011 I started as the Trustee for the Tsal'alh community, of which I am a registered member, when the St'at'imc Hydro Agreement was signed by the St’at’imc, BC Hydro and the Province...Expand for more
of BC. In 2015 I became a working Board member in the position of Chair & Treasurer on the Board of Directors of the Tsal'alh Development Corporation for our community and the Vice Chair of our Strata Corp. In 2019 I became a Board member on the Board of the St’at’imc Government Services but unfortunately, due to family illness, had to retire from all Boards in 2020 and now I am enjoying retired life. Update again!! I am now consulting with the Lillooet Tribal Council assisting their team leads with the budgeting process. Guess we never really retire from working especially when there is no interest in travelling.
