CORRECTION: Graduation from Boswell Jr HS was 1960 not 1959.. Doyle Adams and I were married January 26. 1964 and are still together after meeting and dating in HS. . I went on to get a BA in Sociology and Master's of Divinity and have 42 years of experience with Medicare and Social security. My emphasis in seminary was faith and pubic policy.. Music is still a big part of my life even though in high school, becoming a music teacher was what I 'thought' I wanted to do. Thanks to all my good teachers but your occupation seemed too 'confining.' Using my music and drama talents in community theater and church and seeing many children I've directed go on to greater things, has been rewarding. My social science teachers must have known this when I was the one selected from Topeka High School to go to a luncheon and hear Margaret Mead talk. Interest and aptitude tests showed that writing and social were by far my main interests. Granted, in 1963, women had not yet reached equality and choices seemed to be few. But, like most teenagers, thought I had it all figured out! I can look back on my 67 years and see many accomplishments and am looking forward to the future! ...Expand for more
