Linda's Story

Am I the only one to post a bio? Please...I am a peon in the grand scheme of things. Sign my guestbook! I want to hear from all of you...my memories of my younger years are vague. My bio? Give me a hundred pages. lots of ups and downs but when the ups came they were large. My life pretty much did'nt begin until my mid twenties when I spread my wings and started to fly. But, there are a few personal, fun, crazy times before then that I can remember. In 1981 I arrived in Texas where I heard there were jobs. Worked as a waitress at night and as a receptionist for an oil company during the days. In 82, went to Florida to enjoy the scuba and sunshine. Worked 2 jobs (banking receptionist and waitress), fell in love with a cute italian New Yorker, sailed, dived and met lot's of great people. Had a ball! Traveled. Took an offer to move to Atlanta for a sales mgmt. position. Spent one year there and then moved on to San Franciso in 1985. and started a cellular company at the beginning of the industry and that's when things really took off in my life. Traveled a lot, hung with some famous celebs which wasn't impressive. In 1991 things went south literally (financially and personally), Someone I knew as a teen told me he was always in love with me and asked me to move to Nashville. Well, uh, that did'nt go so well but I did manage to buy a nice home on the lake and continue my work in telecom with what money I had left. Oh but how lonely! It seemed I had everything but a descent man! I had reached my dream as a corporate sales trainer for a fortune 100 telecom company, loved my work but didn't like the long hours, started dabbling in the stock market and saw the power of the Internet headed straight for us all. Then I met what would become my future husband! Marriage was really going to happen after all! A man with incredible integrity and values. wow! In 1999 moved to Philadelphia with my future husband. We didn't get that loft downtown but we did better! It had been a long time since I had lived up north and braved the cold snowy winters but this turned out dreamy! I found a small 200 year old historical stone house that had at one time been a carriage barn. It sat on a private estate in a historical suburb of Philly, surrounded by rolling hills, horse farms, deer and we even had fox hunts trot through our backyard! My hus...Expand for more
band and I got married in my hometown of Cleveland, Oh in 2000. We had a beautiful wedding and scheduled events that led up to the grand day. (we figured we would have to do something really special if we expected anyone to travel to Cleveland from across the country! haha) Some of you came from far away... thank you for being there to share this very special time in my life. It meant so much to me! We got married in an old historical church with the grandest of all organs! My favorite part of the ceremony was when the operatic soloist sang "Ava Maria". He was a jolly big fella. My favorite part of the reception was when my husband sang to me "I could Not Ask For More" by Edwin McCain and our first dance which was a waltz. They then played "What A wonderful World This Is" by Louis Armstrong. We honeymooned in the Turks And Caicos at the wonderful Beaches resort. From Philly we moved on to Dallas, Texas which we loved (now honorary texans) and are currently living in Atlanta, Ga. with our 2 dogs, 2 cats. We spend our weekends boating on beautiful Lake Lanier which is a hoot! My husband is a Regional Sales Manager for a fortune 500 company. I founded 2 non-profits for children and the first ever national walk across the nation to raise awareness of child abuse and crimes against children. CWAVusa.org MMACA.org A4Kclub.org That's my story! Shocked, surprised, happy? You can all get up off the floor now. Look for it in the stores soon. School During my high school years I attended a few schools in Oh, Tn and NC. My happiest days were cheerleading in North Carolina and and in the flag corp in Tn. Those times changed my life more than anyone can imagine. Who could have known it was in me? Falling in love for the first time, my wonderful friends and finding God. Thank you all for accepting me! College My favorite times at Walters State were cheerleading, dating, all of my crazy, fun and kind friends.....Martha, Karen, Pam, Denise, the jocks and everyone else! Going to Florida on missionary work and doing stupid modeling of which I was NOT qualified to do! haha Workplace Salesperson, waitress, receptionist, telecom salesperson, cellular entrepeneur, corporate Internet sales trainer, management, stock trader and CEO of Morning Star Enterprises, Inc. Now proudest of all, running my charity...Children Without A Voice USA.org
