Linda L.'s Story
Brian S. Hall & I married at the end of September 1980 after we graduated in ER and moved to the Rose City/West Branch area in northeastern upper lower Michigan.
We have been married for 30 years now and we have 3 adult sons. Recently we have past some milestones that we are proud of...
1) Our oldest son, Russell, married his girlfriend, Amber Green, of over 3 years on St. Patrick's Day in 2007. They honeymooned in Hawaii, moved into the house that Russ had built in '06, and gave us or first grandson in the early part of January 2008 and our first granddaughter in July of 2010.
2) Our middle son, Benjamin, has lived in Ponca City, OK, and back in Michigan, namely at our house since thanksgiving of 2008. He's currently spenidng time recreating his adult life.
3) Our youngest son, Alexander, tried attending Michigan Tech for 2 years but, came home shortly after Russ got married and is still spending time rediscovering himself.
4) Brian celebrated his 26th anniversary of working at American Plastic Toys, Inc., where is a supervisor of schedules and production. He enjoys playing 'Santa' by sharing big plastic toy items for families of need during the holiday season. I've always said that he's Santa's helper by making plastic toys all year round for children in America. APT was recognized by msn.com as producing 5 of the top 10 american made lead free & "Green" toys during the '07 holiday season. Plus people from Washington DC recently visited in '10 their Walled Lake plant to see how they do it!
5) I've spent the years my sons grew up finish...Expand for more
ing my Social Work degree from SVSU. The I took up oil painting and golf before subsititute teaching and doing some work sorta in my field for the AuSasble Valley Community Mental Health. I retired from them in late '07 and proceeded to provide care for my then infant grandson and later provided some elder care in a private setting. Since then '09 I have gone back to substitute teaching last fall and have filled a bucket list item by going to work for McDonald's. The major pluses I found workting there is a significant weight loss, due to the exercise, and the shrinking of my clothes closet choices.
6) Brian & I are enjoying the newest phase of our life with the birth of our grandchilden. Lucas and Samantha live right around the corner from our house. We go over a river and through a woods to spend time with them and his parents. Plus we have been blessed with numerous visits from Luke and Samantha's great and great-great grandparents this past year.
Brian and I enjoy golfing, searching out ghost towns in Michigan, metal detecting, precious rock hunting, playing Nintendo Wii Sports, playing games online, and their grandchildren.
Linda loves eating smartees and m&m's, enjoys gardening, oil painting, enjoys building web sties, teaching adult Sunday School, playing euchre, trimming shrubs, and empowering the youth in the community through involvement with Cub Scouts. She has spent over the past 20 years in the BSA program at one level or another.
She is still trying to figure out what she wants to be when she grows up...
