Linda's Story
Thought it was time for an "Update"! Let's see! I still live in Colorado in a small town south of Denver. I have 2 of the greatest boys on this earth. The oldest, Chad, is 19 (can you believe?) and my youngest, Greg is 17. Chad is the artistic musically talented one and Greg is the athletic wrestler, rugby, hockey player! Ya, anything that involves contact and blood, he's right there. I was re-married a little over a year ago to a very gentle,handsome, big man with a big heart. Truly, who thinks at 50+ a goodlooking guy would want to marry a flat tire with two patches on it and the best, a crazy ex that happens to be a lawyer? Maybe we should check the man's IQ? Work wise, I was a nurse for years and then went from one perishable good to another, I became a florist. Although I no longer have a shop, being "retired" (which I flunked badly) I just re-started an "Event Planning, Wedding Planner, Party Planner" business. What's that mean? Basically, I work only for people I want to work with and still do flowers for special clients and businesses/churches that I like. I never did like cranky people and at my age-why bother? I have kinda of weird nitch and primarily do flowers for one of my many passions, horse shows! It's taken me to lot's of wonderful places and had the opportunity to work with trainers/judges that work at the Olypmics and such. Who would have thunk? I mean realistically, how can you have a bad day doing flowers especially doing them for huge Grand Prix's. It's like a sunday and a cherry on top.
So, besides the boys and my hubby, I have 3? Yah, 3 horses right now. I'm not quite sure how this happens but I typically buy nothing but geldings and somehow they reproduce, a freak of nature I think! The family primarily rides western presently, somewhere in the past year or so I decided hitting the ground at those speeds wasn't quite as much fun as it used to be, I mean reall...Expand for more
y? Would you jump out of a moving car just for fun? I musta gotten a brain sometime here, but now the only time I jump usually isn't on purpose! My last guy, Kramer, was 6th in the World for Western Riding. So, riding yes it's a passion (thank God my hubby feels the same!) but I really enjoy showing and doing flowers at horse shows. I think getting paid to do something you find fun and blending vocation with advocation a very good deal. We also have 4 dogs. Hubby's german shepard, Chad's corgi, Greg's siberian husky and mine, an old English Mastiff. Me at 105 lbs wet walking a 180 lb chicken is pretty funny!
So between taking care of kids which there never seems to be less than 8 around at one time or another, my hubby, horses and dogs, I do find time to work. And you wonder why this thing hasn't been updated in years?

(I can update that on the run during waiting at horse shows, wrestling matches, music venues and other "family" haha activities. Of course, if you are out in the Denver area, give me a hollar! I still ski (the whole reason I moved here!) but like jumping horses, I tend to go slower than I used to and HOW COULD I FORGET! We Love, Love, Love to Golf as a family! I'm not that great but I keep up....I follow the "just putt it down the middle missy" approach. Not fancy but affective! Hey guys! You like reading this stuff but don't seem to have even written a sentence on yours! What's the deal? Are you all closet Classmate Profile readers?
