Linda's Story
Life
I left Marion in 1976 and moved to Oklahoma City, OK. I spent almost 20 years there. I divorced in 1992, moved to Denton, TX in 1995, then to the San Francisco Bay Area in 1997. I have been employed at Sun Microsystems as a Knowledge Engineer since 1999. I returned to the Marion area in April, 2005.
School
I was the geek with the too-curly hair, crooked teeth and bad skin who got along with all the cliques... south side stoners, candies, cheerleaders, athletes (except for Chuck, who said I would look grea...Expand for more
t with a bag over my head!) I made good grades, was involved in Tri-Hi-Y, wrote for the newspaper, sang in the choir and Madrigals and ended up playing string bass for concert band and the Madrigals, too. I always wanted to be a letter girl for the band, but Mr. Eigenmann wanted me on bass clarinet and string bass instead. The home life was mostly a mess... back and forth between divorced parents... but I somehow found success in school... and I'm thankful for the attention and patience of all my teachers and friends.
