Linda's Story
Although I attended Newton Sr. High School, I married when I was 16 and when I turned 17 moved to New York before graduating in Newton.
Had I graduated in Newton, Iowa, I would of been a graduate of the Newton class of 1984.
My marriage did not work out and after 3 1/2 years of marriage I filed for divorce and moved back to Newton.
A few years later, I met Jim, who I truly believe to be my soul mate.
Happily, I have been with my husband Jim for over 20 years, have 2 daughters and one grandson and one granddaughter.
I also have 2 step granddaughters.
I spent the earlier part of my marriage as a stay at home mom. I have worked in different fields over the years.
Currently, for the last 4 yrs., I have been employed at a major benefits company in Des Moines Iowa.
My husband Jim, age 51, is an avid cyclist and a big fan of Lance Armstrong. He put in over 2400 miles las...Expand for more
t year. He usually rides several century rides and 2-3 days of R.A.G.B.R.A.I., each year.
My oldest daughter Amber, age 26, is the mother of my 2 grandchildren and the step mother of my 2 step granddaughters. She is a financial advisor for an Iowa College.
My youngest daughter Ashley, age 19, is attending UNI currently in Cedar Falls Iowa. She is attending to become a certified pharmacy technician, while on a waiting list to take classes to become a dental hygienist. She continues to work at a pharmacy before and after her classes. She has worked at a pharmacy for 3 years now.
I enjoy, traveling, camping, gardening,
reading, going out on our boat, just to relax and sometimes to fish and I LOVE wildlife.
I would like to hear from those I went to elementary, Jr./Sr. high school with and catch up with them and their lives.
