Lindsay's Story
Life
I have five grandchildren! Four girls and one boy between the ages of 16 and 6. Trina (Katrina) 33 yrs old, my youngest works as an optician. She lives in Bowie, MD and has the only boy Justin who is 13. He is already working this summer with his own lawn care business. He is saving for a Camero when he is old enough to drive. Morgan, who is 10, wants to be a horse Vet and takes riding lessons. Bernie, my son who is 36, has his own residential water fire system business has a 12 acre farmette in Denton, MD with horses, goats, bunnies, dogs and cats, has three girls. Crystal the 16 yr. old into Thespian stage stuff, Tiffany, 13, who loves horses and dance and Cheyenne the youngest at 6 just loves to be a girl!
I am finishing my 25th year as a VA Licensed Optician. I opened and am managing a new optical dispensary in an 3 doctor Ophthalmology practice in Fairfax, VA in a boutique, by appointment only setting. I have been there 6 1/2 years. I have made a name (a small one) for myself in my industry as a consultant, trainer and national speaker. I have owned my own image consultant company and have a make-up artist license in MD. I combine that experience, knowledge and connections to style eyewear to compliment bone structure, color proportion/scale and lifestyle need...Expand for more
s. I also train other image consultants the fine arts of styling eyewear. I live in Chantilly, VA just 8 miles from work. I work only Mon.-Fri. 8AM to 5PM with no weekend hours.
I have been divorced and happily remarried to Jim (Wegert, my new last name) for a little more than 10 years who is a federal government employee. We have lived in Chantilly, VA since 1998.
We have four pets. Two dogs and two cats. Out of the four 2 are abandoned rescued or abuse rescued. One cat is a "hairless" variety Cornish Rex mom named Pussywillow for her white, fuzzy, lanky long legged frame. The grandkids call her my "alien" kitty.
For fun, I love antiquing, decorating, gardening, "master techniques" oil painting, nature photography and other hand crafts. I am also into spirituality, natural and homeopathic healing modalities and am a Reiki Master and teacher and am certified in a few others, as well. I volunteer at INOVA Fairfax Hospital's Life With Cancer program giving Reiki to cancer patients and their caretakers to help for relaxation, anxiety and touch. I have developed and submitted a creative way to help the chemo patients apply eyebrows after they lose their hair to their Look Good, Feel Good program and may be either teaching this or helping clients with it individually.
