Life I was always the quiet, shy one in HS and didn't take part in many of the activities. I was a member of the French Club and Glee Club and liked attending some of the football and basketball games. My family lived so far out in the boondocks that getting to take part in many activities was impossible to do. After I graduated from BHS, I worked as a telephone operator for a couple of years. At the age of 20, I joined the Army (WAC) and went off to see the world. I really enjoyed my time in the military, had a lot of adventures and saw a lot of places. I took basic in Alabama, then was stationed at the Signal Corps School in Ft. Monmouth NJ. From there, I was transferred to the 34th Gen. Hosp. in Orleans (La Chapelle St. Mesmin), France where I worked as a clerk typist in the Chief Surgeon's Office.
