Lisa's Story
I always wanted to be a mom when I grew up. I just wasn't sure if I wanted to get married! So, I got married probably at an older age than most of my peers. I started out being a sixth grade teacher, took some time off to be a stay at home mom and have my children, then went back to teaching when I turned 40.
I relax by doing things involved with music like ringing handbells and singing in the choir at First Presbyterian in Columbus.
The wildest thing I ever did in school was nothing... I was always one who, if it was a rule or a law, I wouldn't break it.
I have lived in Columbus, GA, then moved to Murfreesboro, Tennessee for ten years, then to Oxford, Mississippi, then back to Columbus.

t I set a good example for my daughters by showing them positive ways to deal with stress, anxiety, and grief and not destructive ways of dealing with those emotions.
When I was young, I thought I would grow up to be ambitious, but I have not turned out that way at all. I am very happy and satisfied to NOT be famous or glamorous, and I am very blessed with a job that I love, and to have my friends and family. To me, a relaxing way to spend a few hours early on a Saturday morning are to wander around the Walmart Supercenter and look at what is on clearance in each department! Target on Sunday afternoons with a bag of popcorn and a coke is a great way to spend time, also! Clothes from Walmart and generic brand everything is my kind of style (or lack of it, my teenage daughter would tell you!) No, I am not at all ambitious for a higher level job position, or to be famous and rich. I feel like I am very rich in the things that are most important... family, friends, church, and the people I love.
