Lisa's Story
Life
My Kids
I have three wonderful kids.....Leroy, Jr. who's 20 and married, Daniel, a 15 yr old 10th grader, and a 3 year old named Abram (AB). WOW! I think that says it all... WOW!
My Family
Well, my family now includes a grandchild, Aedan, and boy do we enjoy having that little munchkin around! He's so precious as all children are.
School
I had a blast in high school! I never realized how little we actually had to stress over until now that I see my son's aloof attitude. He's so easy-going about everything, constantly on the phone, at practice/games, friend's houses (or all at mine), ... how nice it was. I remember CYO, volleyball (coaches Perry and "D", drool...), the "Bench Bunch" club, band, & the various organizations. Oh, Mr. O's journalism class, and of course Mr./Mrs. Briscoe's and Mrs. McCraw's classes. Can't forget Coach Hoch's trig class or Mr. King's biology class either. (I could have done without Koepsel's physics formulas; I never quite got them.) Awesome times, huh? Wouldn't trade a memory for the world! Well, maybe physics...
College life
College was a different world. Too m...Expand for more
uch freedom! Freedom to cut class, to spend a day anywhere with your friends without getting that call to your parents saying you played "hooky," then coming home and saying, "It was a good day today. I had a lot of work to do!" Who knew? No one, until midterm grades. Uh-oh. Gotta shape up now.
It was a lot of fun. I went to Bee County for two years, played in the jazz and concert bands, made the All State Junior College Teacher's Association band both years, then transferred to Texas A & I in Kingsville. More fun! Joined the marching band and the mariachi. I was a "Little Sister" to a fraternity. Oh yeah, I took classes while I was there, too. It took me a while to achieve my degree, but I finally got it: Elementary education and Generic special education. I love it. I'll never forget my college years. (by the time I graduated, A & I was now A & M.)
I am now an instructional coordinator for Brush Country Co-op. I am a member of CR350, a local rock band. It's so much fun hanging out with my friends playing songs we grew up with. Takes me back... Check out the band at the myspace site: cr350rx
