Life
Loving Life in Texas
Living in Crowley, just south of Fort Worth. I have a wonderful husband of 17 years and four great kids, Jordan age 13, Caitlin age 10, Jaden age 6, and Calise age 4. I'm working full-time as a Contracting Officer for the US Army Corps of Engineers. Jim and I own our own business, Powered Web Designs, Inc. To top it off, Jim and I are volunteer youth ministers at our church, Crowley Family Fellowship. God has blessed us immensely. Both sets of parents live in town so my kids get to see their grandparents nearly every day, a luxury I didn't have as an Air Force brat.
College
I met my husband, Jim, when I was a freshman at Florida State. He had just graduated from Baylor University and was working as the Associate Director of the Baptist Student Union. I met him on a Saturday and by Friday, I knew he was the man I was going to marry...I just had to figure out how to close the deal! I transferred to Texas Wesleyan University when Jim moved to Texas for his Master's Degree. I graduated in 1994 ...Expand for more
with a BA in Vocal Performance and 1 class shy of a minor in Business.
Workplace
During college I worked in the Alumni office at Texas Wesleyan. While there I had the opportunity to interview for a stay in school position with the Contracting Division of the US Army Corps of Engineers. A few months later I was invited to be among the first in the Cooperative Education Program. After graduation, I was hired as a Department of Army Intern, which provides for upward mobility during a two-year period. When I completed my internship I was converted to a career employee. I was promoted a year later to Procurement Analyst. During my time as a Procurement Analyst, I received another promotion. After a two-year hiatus from Government Service, I returned to work. I served as the Acquisition Program Manager for a nation-wide team of Contract Specialists working on the Centers of Standardization MILCON Transformation Program. I was recently promoted to Section Chief, COS Acquisition Section. I now supervise six employees. YIKES.
