Lisa's Story

Life I am currently working as an English tutor over the intenet. I have one boy and he is growing by leaps and bounds. He is being home schooled right now. School My biggest crush in High School? Well, I went to two high schools so it is really hard to pick. I would have to say that at my public school it must have been Tyson Saynard or Phil Headlund. At my private academy I really did not have as many crushes or results from them as I did in public school. It really doen't matter now because I love my husband very much and I am very happy with him. Which teacher inspired my the most? I cannot just pick one.I would have to say Mrs. A from public school. She was very caring and involved with all of her students. I would have to say that I really didn't have too many favorites in my private school because they were all fantastic teachers. They all inspired me to become a teacher. Would I do it again? Not really. I enjoyed my friends that I made. I don't care too much for the heartache that goes with dating as a teenager. I suppose I learned alot though. My funniest memories are of stay up late and doing ALL the phone monitor shifts with my friends. We watched movies and ate junk food. My happiest memories are of filling a cafeteria table full of friends. I really liked my academy friends because they all accepted my for who I was without preconceived ideas. I wasn't friends with the popular people because they all had a tendency to stick a knife in your back or in your front side with their comments. Or just not talk to you because your parents could not buy clothes or a car for you. Not all of them of course. There were a few exceptions. College My most unique roomate had to be Shondie. She was messy but fun to talk to. I remember one time when Mark Simpson came to our room to change the vent and Shondie's clothes were piled everywhere. When he...Expand for more
left our room, he took some pantyhose with him. I could have died of embarassment. The cafeteria cuisine is not particularly memorable. I din't have too many all nighters because I spent two years of my life dating someone connected to a computer which left me with a lot of free time. Then we broke up and I had all of the time in the world to excercize and study. My favorite memories are begining my job in ESL. I had something to dedicate myself to with a passion. I loved it. We tutors had a good time talking and working. The highlights are, my trip to Yemen for one year and meeting my hubby when I came back. In Yemen I learned a lot about cooking, using a standing up toilet, belly dancing, making friends and loosing preconceived ideas. I laughed, cried and grew in many ways. I was very glad to meet my husband when I returned from Yemen. Workplace My first job was when I went to academy. I worked at a lumber mill. I developed a sense of responsibility coupled with asthma. My second job was as a custodian and working in the cafeteria. I did both of these things in my Senior year. I also worked as phone monitor. When I graduated from highschool, it took some time to find a job. I enrolled in a two year college and then started working at Taco Bell. That was followed by a stint at Denny's and then at a place called La Prima Pizza. After that, I worked at the PUC community radio station. When I moved to Texas, I worked as a custodian, then I worked for the ESL department. The ESL department was my favorite job ever! I still think about it now. I then spent a year volunteering for ADRA in Yemen. My first job upon graduation from university was working for Cedar Hill ISD. Then, I worked for a private Islamic school. After that I worked as a domestic engineer for two years. Now, I am working at Seagoville Elementary. I really am enjoying this job very much.
