Lisa's Story

Those of you that knew me well when we graduated, know that I got married right after graduation to a guy named Harry that was in the Navy. I moved to Wilmington, Delaware where he was stationed at the time. We were married less than a year. It was not a good choice on my part. I came back home and lived with my parents for a while. Still a Nurse Assistant, which is what I was doing before I graduated. I had planned on becoming an EMT, but that didn't work out. I don't handle death very well. Anyway, after being a Nurse Assistant, I started waitressing at a country bar in Smyrna and then bartending. Back then the age to drink was still 18. When the drinking age changed to 21, so did I. That is where I met Audrey's father. We got married and after Audrey was a few years old, I worked a few odd jobs here and there. Then I started working at the Waverly Hotel shining shoes. Something I never thought I'd be doing, but the pay was pretty darn good. I left Audrey's father (He was violent. Another bad choice.)and I was able to support Audrey on my own and go to school without child support (he was also a deadbeat dad. Audrey now calls him the sperm doner. Joe's her real dad because he has been there for her since we go married. Also, her Godfather Jim Cavanagh has been there for her, so she really grew up with 2 great dads.) Then a mutual friend introduced me to my future husband. That friend, Jim Cavanagh (who is an amazing person. We accually consider his family part of our family instead of just friends), is Timothy and Audrey's Godfather. His wife Ira, who is from Russia, is their Godmother and Joe and I are their daughter's American Godparents. That's a whole other story that I will need to tell another time. I am happily married to a former Marine, Frank (Joe) Joseph Bourne, and living in Acworth, Georgia. Joe and I met while I was in computer school, but after I graduated we got married and decided programming wasn't for me. I have two beautiful children. Audrey (from a previous marriage) is 24 and married to a great guy. She is about to graduate Magna Cum Laude from Kennesaw State University with a bachelors degree in Exercise & Health Science/Health Promotion (she started out at West Georgia, then after 3 years, changed her major. After 4 years of college, she took a break and I talked her into getting certified as a personal trainer and working for me...Expand for more
. That's when she found her calling). My son Timothy is 11 and has been going to a christian school since he was 4. He is very smart, like his father. My husband is a systems engineer for Cisco Systems Inc. I had a difficult pregnancy with Timothy and was put on bedrest after 22 weeks of pregnancy, so needless to say, I gained a lot of weight. After Timothy was about 4 years old, I began kickboxing, martial arts and weight training. I lost around 100 pounds and I loved exercising, so I decided I wanted to help other people do what I did. I opened Bourne Personal Training Inc. in Acworth. We were there for about five years, but then I developed health problems that prevented me from training clients. So, I closed my fitness center in 2007 and concentrated on getting healthy and taking care of my family and home. I am currently involved in photography, geneology, gardening and I enjoy cooking for family and friends. I live with 2 computer geeks ( my husband and son ) and I guess I'm a bit of one myself, so I'm really enjoying working on this webpage. One thing I am really into now is the study of Israel and Prophecy. Concidering what's going on in the world right now, it's more important than ever and the subject has always fascinated me. I look forward to conecting with old friends. Since my father was in the Marine Corps, we moved around alot, so I really didn't take school as seriously as I should have. What I really enjoyed in school was hanging out with friends and making new ones. I believe this was because I had to give up so many friends over the years when we moved. I went through a faze where I was a bit of a party animal. Thankfully, it didn't kill me and I grew out of it. I did try to always be there for my friends. After all, that's what having a friend is all about. One friend from school that I would really like to reconnect with is Sandy Daves. I have great memories of all the fun times we had together. No matter what we were doing, we had fun doing it and I knew I could always trust her. If anyone that reads this has pictures they would like to share, but they can't figure out how to get them on the computer, ask me. I can probably help. I have quit a bit of hardware at my home, so I can talk you through it or tell you where you can go to scan the photos. My husband is the one that got me into photography, so he could probably help as well.
