Lisa's Story
Life
I moved to Minnesote in 1988 and never left.
I was married in 1998 (5 days before my sister) in Lake Tahoe. I have 2 children, 1 boy and 1 girl. I also have a black lab appropriately named Dallas (my husband picked the name). We live about 45 minutes north of the Twin Cities and own about 5 acres of land. We have lots of room for the kids to run and play.
I am active in my church. I am on the Women's Ministry Team, work in the nursery, am an active leader in our MOPS group, and run our summertime VBS.
I couldn't be happier or more blessed!
School
High school was not my thing. I never felt like I fit in anywhere. I was an average student and just got by until graduation.
College
My first day of college was a memorable one. I had just moved to Minnesota the day after Christmas so it was winter. I woke up early for my first day only to find that it had snowed over night. t in my car the battery was dead from the cold. So, I thought I would walk to school, it was only a few blocks. It took me an hour to get there walking in the snow and only an hour and a half to get home...walking in the snow. When I saw the weather report from the day I then found out it was only 3 degrees, no wonder I was freezing!
Workplace
My first job in Minnesota was telemarketing. They thought I would do well with my southern accent. I didn't like it my first day, but I went back the next day. Only to find the business had been closed down. After that I went to work waiting tables and eventually started bartending. I worked my way through college (pretty good money). After school I became the manager of a customer service call center. That was until they eliminated my postion 1 month before my second child was born. I have been staying home ever since.
Military
Never served. Have family members in the service and appreciate all that the men and women do for us!
