Lisa's Story
Life
Since graduation, I have lived several places. I married Andy Stewart, a United States Enlisted Marine, and we lived in Quantico, VA, where he worked at HMX-1 (the Presidential Helicopter Squadron Alert Facility). Next, we moved to North Tazewell, VA, while he was on Recruiting Duty at RSS Princeton, WV. From 2002 until 2006, we lived in Jacksonville, NC, near Camp Lejeune, where Andy worked at Marine Corps Air Station New River. Now, we are stationed at Marine Corps Air Station Iwakuni, Japan through June 2009. I have finally completed my degree in Computer Programming and look forward to getting back to the US to pursue a Master's Degree.
College
I hated having roommates, but once I got ...Expand for more
out on my own, I loved college life. I have attended three different universities, in the process of moving so frequently.
Workplace
I enjoyed working as a Vet Tech, but technology seems to be my calling. I enjoy programming, and I aspire to teach one day.
Military
I didn't join, but I married into it! I love it; I can't imagine life any other way. There is a true sense of unity among the spouses and families, especially during deployments. I love moving to new places, meeting new people, and helping others as they enter this strange wonderful world. My eyes have been opened to a vast array of politics, policies, and military lifestyles that I never could have dreamed of understanding before.
