Lisa's Story
After high school, then what? If you check out the website I made, you will get an idea of what I'm up to. Mewtations dot com. Or, read on....
Well, that last little bit of high school was chaotic. I moved out of my mom's house just before graduation. I started out with sweetheart Eric Basham and his mom and sister Aime in Butler, but things began not working out with Eric , so Aime and I quickly found an apartment in Paterson. College was postponed, and I worked 2 jobs to make ends meet. After Aime moved out and got married, I had to find a smaller, I reconciled with Eric, and moved in with him and his Dad in Kearny. Eric switched Rutgers campuses, and needed his own personal space, so I took Thad Spero up on an offer for a little get-away to see Nascar. I moved to Upper Saddle River, and rented a room from my now step-mom. I also started working as a full-time Nanny. Thad and I kept seeing each other, and got married in July 1990. We got an apartment in Flanders, and had our son Nathaniel in March 1991. State Farm moved us to South Glens Falls, NY, where we bought our first house, & had our daughters Felicia, in Nov 1992, Miranda in 1994, and son Garron in 1996. I ran a daycare in our home, so I could raise our kids, and also worked opposite Thad's work schedule as a Movie Theatre assist. mana...Expand for more
ger. State Farm moved us to Dawsonville, GA when Garron was only a few months old. We bought our second house, and I worked at a daycare center. We lost our pet Siamese cat, and found out about Cornish Rex, and fell in love. We started out with 2 pets, and have built a cattery and breeding program and private rescue. State Farm moved us for the last time to Wolcott, CT, where we bought our third house. I helped run the latchkey program in the kids' school and finally headed back to college. Being a full-time mom, working and going to school wasn't easy, but I stayed on the Dean's list with a 4.0. APLS kicked in big time, and I ended up pretty sick in the hospital. School is postponed again, but mostly because Thad wasn't too keen on me going. We have definitely had our share of rough roads, but will be married 18 years July 2008. Thad left State Farm, and now works at IPC, still doing computer/phone system stuff. I work in Human Services now, mostly rehabilitating folks with brain injuries, but also work full time as a pet sitter. The kids are awesome. Really nice people. I'm so blessed that I've had them in my life. They share my love of animals and science, and we do have a lot going on in the house!
