Lisa (Pixie)'s Story
Life
After graduation I worked at D'livery Stable for 4 years. In 1988 I joined the Navy and attended Navy Administration school. My 1st duty station was on the USS YELLOWSTONE and then on to HC-6, a helicopter squadron. I met my husband in 1991 in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba during 'refresher training' while I was on active duty. We were married in Dec 92. Our son Connor was born June 17, 1994 in Portsmouth, VA. He's 13 and in the 8th grade, wow how time flys! I got off active duty and went into the reserves in 1996. I've been to Egypt, France, Spain, Turkey, Virgin Islands, Cuba, Italy, Saudi Arabia, Ireland...Expand for more
, Crete, Capri and the UK (01-04). From 96-00 I worked for MWR (MCCS) Human Resources Camp Lejeune and then 00-01 I worked at Naval Hospital Camp Lejeune. In 2004 we transferred back to the U.S., Camp Lejeune, NC. In Jul 07 my husband received orders to Headquarters Marine Corps in DC; we live in Stafford, VA about 35 miles south of DC. Yea, we decided to sell our house we built in NC; but we're looking for one up here, Jon's close to retirement, so maybe soon all this moving around will come to an end. I got out of the reserves in 04; so I'm a CIVILIAN! 16 years working for Uncle Sam! (8 active; 8 reserve).
