Lisa's Story
Life
I have done a lot since graduation, some of which I never thought possible... I really should write a book about it all. Haha, if you want to find out, ask me!
School
After leaving Pembroke Academy the summer of Junior ('88) year, I transfered to Pinkerton Academy ('90) to graduate. Bummed around Chichester for a semester working for Weathervane Seafood Restaurant, before leaving for New Mexico and College (January '91).
College
College took me a while. I spent three semesters at Eastern New Mexico University (Jan. '91-May '92). Left there and moved to Albuquerque where I took a year off from schooling. I then went and attended ABQ Technical Vocational Institute (TVI) until Jan. 1995. Left ABQ and moved to Las Cruces , NM where I ended up graduating (Dec. 2000) with a Bachelors of Science in Hotel, Restaurant & Travel Managment (HRTM). Now I am working on my Teaching Certification (in Family Consumer Science Education ...aka FCSE) and my Masters Degree (Career & Technology Education ... aka CATE) at the same time while working as a High...Expand for more
School Vocational Instructor. Also working on my Marketing Education Certification so that I can crossover to a new educational field and in 3 semesters I will be going for my Assistant Principals Licensure (lol... yeah the apple never falls far from the tree. Those that knew dad will be happy to know that he has recieved his Doctorate in Education and is a Principal at the oldest High School here in El Paso, TX)
Workplace
Wow... okay what to write here. I could write that I worked for tons of restaurants since leaving New Hampshire, I have also worked as a Teller at a 24-hour Check Cashing Agency in the worst part of ABQ. I have had the opportunity to work in the field of Entertainment. A job that I did for 4 years, loving every blessed moment of it (even the bad times). I have also had the opportunity to work at Disney World Resorts. Now, I am doing what I wanted to when I left High School. I am teaching at a vocational high school here in El Paso, TX. I teach Hotel, Restaurant & Travel Management to high school students. It is a joy really.
