Lisa's Story
Life
I left Valentia after our 9th grade year because my parents moved me to Wisconsin! I ended up staying here because we live in a beautiful town where kids can still play with their friends until dusk without watching them every minute! I can't believe that we are all 40! I still feel 18! I have a wonderful husband (Greg) who I met at college and two beautiful girls Alicia (11) and Lauren (9). My Dad recently died and my mom is still going strong at 76. I have three cats, a rat terrier named Oreo and alot of tropical fish. The girls are very active is sports and love school and have a tendency to be very social and out going. At this point in their lives, they still include us with lots of things and think we are still cool. We are hoping that the purchace of the new Harely this summer got us a couple extra years in the "cool parents" group!
School
School in Wisconsin sucked! Everyone was very closed minded and unaware of the big diverse world that was around them. I am hoping for our future generations that the internet has changed all that. Things seem to be ...Expand for more
better when I talk to kids here now. The one good thing (or maybe it was a bad thing?) was that the drinking age was 18 when I was in high school so it seemed to make those sucky years go faster. But college was much better.....
College
I graduated from the University of Wisconsin with a degree in chemistry and biology. Upon graduation I started working at the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension Laboratory (the MN state crime lab). College was a blast. The sorority cost me an extra year and a half of school but the fun was worth it. I met my husband at a frat party, so I guess everything happens for a reason! Now I know too much of what my kids will be doing later (yikes!)
Workplace
After college I started working for the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension Laboratory (the MN state Crime Lab). It is a totally fun job (minus the things you have to disconnect from)! It is just like CSI except it takes longer, I don't wear spike heals at a crime scene, I don't wear leather pants and they haven't given me a Hummer to take out yet ..........besides that, it is JUST like CSI!
