Lisa's Story

Life I've been a single parent for the whole existence of the twins. I actually enjoy it. it's always just the three of us and we really have a lot of fun. It's getting hard to keep up with those active boys but it sure is fun trying. We also have three beautiful pedigree persians in our little family. Cecil de Quixote, Reggie LeRoux, and Lilly P. Kitty. Fancy names for fancy felines. College After I had my twins in 1997, I went back to college full-time and received my Bachelor of Science in Nursing with a Minor in Psychology from Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls, Texas. I ljust completed my MBA and hope to start on my Doctorate in Statistics within the next 3 years. Interesting Stuff!! : - ) Workplace I received an honorable discharge from the NAVY in 1994. Since then, I've completely changed careers and am now an RN, BSN and am the Lead Charge Nurse of a peroperative and postoperative surgical hospital. I did orthopedics for over two years and then worked for Indian Health Services. I then returned to my previous hospital and took the charge position. Now, myself and a couple of friends are looking into starting a medical spa. Keep your fingers crossed. In 2002 we had a new home built in Broken Arrow, OK and the boys started a br...Expand for more
and new school that opened the same year we moved. They are now in 5th grade and wear me out. Quaid is taking golg lessons along with a drama/acting class. Quinn just finished up baseball and is anxiously waiting to start his second year in football. Military I absulotely loved my experience in the military and if I could do it all over again, I definitely would have stayed in the Navy. Each and every duty station was a blast. I made tons of good friends and a lot of us still keep in touch today. I spent a total of 8 years and 4 months in the Navy and as one of my friends so nicely reminds me, I could have retired in February of 2006. Oh well. I spent my first two years over in Rota, Spain and it was great. After that I went to Jacksonville, Florida to VP-45 and deployed for six months to Bermuda and then later to Lajes, Portugal. That was a blast of a time. After that I transferred to water survival training in Jax. I then went to the Defense Language Institute in Monterey, California and studied Mandarin Chinese. Upon graduation I transferred to Texas and realized I wanted out. So in 1994 I got out and returned home to Oklahoma. I really miss all of my old Navy buds and if any of you are reading this you had best be writing me a note to say HI!!
