Liz's Story
Hi! This is Liz (Jaeger) Whelan. I am now divorced & retired, with 4 grown children--2 girls(55 & 53) & 2 boys(51 & 49) & 8 beautiful grandchildren(5 girls--35, 34, 28 & 11 & 6 yr old) & 3 grandsons(17, 13 years old & 11 years old. I have moved back to Staten Island, NY. I had been living in Florida for 26yrs. I sure did miss NY. I've had some health issues, but getting back on the road to recovery.I don't have a picture at this time, but hope to eventually. Not sure yet if I can get to the reunion yet, but I'm sure going to try. I lived on Dekalb Avenue in Brooklyn, went to St. Brigid's Grammar School & St. Albert's High School. I am now 76 years young & enjoying life. I remember the dances we used to have in St. Brigid's School Yard. We had great times back than. I now have White Hair, blue eyes. I have been reminded by my 2 closest friends, Lucille Schembeck & Lorraine Hintze & Paul Caltigirone about singing on the stage at St. Brigid's school. told I was the rock star of my class. I didn't know that. I recently went out to lunch with Susan Juren Castillo from H.S. It was a Fabulous time!! It was as if no time had ever passed!!! We will be getting together again soon!!! It has been 60 years since graduation from St. Albert HS on June 19, 1964. Miss all my former classmates. I can't believe it's been 60 yrs since we graduated. I miss You All. I recently moved into my own Apartment. Loving it. Hope everyone is staying safe with this Coronavirus. Sending hugs to all my Classmates. I don't know how many of you knew that I was adopted when I was 5 months old? Well, my Daughters got me the Ancestry Kit & found 4 Cousins. That was the Best News Ever. Miss You All So Much!!! I've just received a Picture of my Birth Mother from another Cousin on my Birth Mother's side. Such a Wonderful Surprise. I just turned 77 yrs old & was Blessed to become a Great Grandma to a Baby Boy, Bruce Arthur Brooks, thanks to my Granddaughter Sarah & her Husband Bernie. It's such a Wonderful Feeling.
