Lois's Story
Life
After graduating, I worked as a legal secretary before I married and had two boys. I lived in San Francisco, Denver, and St. Paul (brrrr) before moving back to the great Northwest. I lived in Seattle's View Ridge neighborhood for many years and graduated from North Seattle Community College, and then the UW in 1986, with a B.A. in English, Creative Writing. I stayed at the U, working in the School of Medicine as an Admin. Asst., divorced, and retired early in 2000. Yay! arching for whales in the beautiful San Juans, and B.C. Since retirement, I've had time to pursue my dream of writing for children, and my fiction and nonfiction have appeared in many children's magazines. In Sept., my first book, a biography of Mary Cassatt: Impressionist Painter, will be published (exciting!) by Pelican Pub. Co. Look for it under my current name, Lois V.
