Lois's Story
I worked for Wal-mart for 15 years after college. I began a home sewing business about 15 years ago after leaving Wal-mart.
I now stay busy with sewing and taking care of 3 house dogs and have 7 outdoor dogs (all rescue dogs).
I haven't done much to improve the world in my life, just learned to love God, appreciate what I have and try to live a good life.
I am now in the process of patenting a zipper. Hope it will make a difference in the life of a lot of seamstresses.
I have 3 children, 4 grandchildren, and 1 great-grandchild.
Haven't seen many of school friends; but would like to.
I think it would surprise anyone that we have lived to be the ages we are.
I'd love to see Mrs. Ellington, but I know that's impossible...Expand for more
. I saw Mrs. Hettie Fay a couple of years ago. They are the two who made the biggest impact on my life.
My first real love cheated on me, married someone else, married me 13 years later, then cheated on me and we ended up divorced.
To be truly happy, I would be with my first real love, knowing that he loved me and doing whatever we both liked to do to make each other happy.
My biggest surprise is that I have had such a good life, despite all the ups and downs that I have had.
If I had one do over, I would finish school before going to college and try to do more for others.
I have lived mostly in the bootheel of MO and Martin, TN. I moved to TN after finishing college because I didn't want to go back to the bootheel.
