Lorenzo's Story
Life
I worked for the Cook County Sheriff's Office as Director of Goverment and Community Relations/adminstrative Liaison to the Sheriff. contact address: PO Box 235, 1803 W 95th St, Chicago, IL 60643. Now Director of Police and Security at Malcolm X College in Chicago 312-850-7168. After graduating from Northeastern Illinois University and a four-year enlistment in the U.S. Air Force, I returned to the West Side neighborhood in 1972 to work in the fields of education and counseling at Farragut High School. I also worked with an Urban Programs chapter of the YMCA, where I counseled gangs/ex-gang members, juvenile offenders, and troubled youth. Among the honors I Have earned are installations into the Farragut High School Alumni Hall of Fame, and selection as the 1996 Lay Father of the Year by the Chicago Baptist Ministers' Conference. I have been a successful part-time actor, I appeared in commercials, made-for-television movies, and feature films like "Mo' Money," "U.S. Marshals," "Barbershop," and television series "Tur...Expand for more
ks" and "Early Edition." I am a recent graduate of the Federal Bureau of Investigation's Midwest Law Enforcement Executive Development Seminar (MLEEDS), 2000. In addition, a graduate of both the Executive Management Program (EMP) and the Police Staff and Command (SPSC) at the Northwestern University Center for Public Safety (formerly the Traffic Institute). Currently a member of the National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives, (NOBLE), International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP), American Society of Law Enforcement Trainers (ASLET), Illinois Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP), National Association of Chiefs of Police (NACOP), National Sheriff's Association (NSA), Illinois Sheriff's Association (ISA), Northwestern Training Institute Alumni Association (NUTI), Midwest Gang Investigators Association (MGIA), American Jail Association (AJA), and the Screen Actors Guild. A former Big Ten Football Official, worked the 1991 National Championship Citrus Bowl Game, and the prestigious Liberty Bowl Game.
