Loretta(Lori)'s Story
Hi old friends,
I have been married to Carl for 38 years this Aug 10th, 2012 and have 5 children. I have 4 boys and 1 girl. Four are married and 2 have given me 4 grandchildren. My daughter lives and runs a small farm with her husband and 2 sons in California. One son and his 2 daughters live in Hawaii for the past 19 years and has a successful flooring company. One son lives in Queens, New York and has had a successful career in running his entertainment company. . My next youngest son and his wife live in Seattle and has his own refinishing company and his wife is a Dental Hygienist . My youngest son and his wife live in Brooklyn Heights, NY and are volunteers at the Watchtower Bible & Tract Society teaching people the Bible.
We have had our own business since 1975, we repaired piano and harp cabinets for major piano stores, insurance companies and piano manufacturers.
After getting married to Carl 1973 we lived in Lindenhurst for 1 year and moved to Mastic Beach and lived there for 4 years. We then moved to Texas and lived there for 21 years, due to my health issues we moved again, we now lived Arizona from 2000 to 2012. And are now in Madras, Oregon.
My health is poor and I've had to have 27 surgeries.. I've been disabled since being diagnosed with fibromyalgia since 2001, when the disease caused a tumor on my optical nerve. I don't let my illness get me down although I am now mostly confined to home and am very active in conducting free home Bible studies by phone, email and in the homes of interested ones.
I mostly enjoy teaching people the Bible's answers to questions we all have had. It is the most fulfilling thing I do and have done since 1964. We call on people and discuss the meaning of what's happening around us in the world today.
Where would you go to find the answer to this question? If someone doubted that you had a name, would it not be the most logical thing to inquire of you? Yes, because you would be in the best position to answer, although it would seem to be a very foolish question to you since you had used your name all your life!
In the same way it would be most logical to inquire of God himself as to whether he has a name. Where can we go to do this? To the record he inspired by his holy spirit, which rec...Expand for more
ord is the Holy Bible. In that Word of God it states, according to the Roman Catholic Douay version: âÂÂOur Father who art in heaven. Hallowed be thy name.â (Matt. 6:9) A more recent translation, the Revised Standard Version, states at Psalm 22:22: âÂÂI will tell of thy name to my brethren.â The widely used King James Version renders Isaiah 12:4 this way: âÂÂAnd in that day shall ye say, Praise the LORD, call upon his name, declare his doings among the people, make mention that his name is exalted.â The Catholic Knox translation of Jesusâ words at John 17:6 says: âÂÂI have made thy name known.âÂÂ
While there are many more scriptures from many more translations that could be quoted to show the same thing, must we not forcefully conclude from these samples that God has a name? All reasonable persons would have to acknowledge, Yes. But is that name âÂÂGodâ or âÂÂLordâÂÂ? No, for these are not names but titles, much as you might be called âÂÂMisterâ or âÂÂSir.âÂÂ
That it is vital to know the name of God and to use it, GodâÂÂs own Word makes clear, for at Romans chapter 10, verse 13, which is a quotation from Joel chapter 2, verse 32, it states: âÂÂFor whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.âÂÂâÂÂCatholic Douay version.
The evidence from GodâÂÂs Word is therefore conclusive that God indeed has a name and that it is important for life seekers to know it and to use it. Doubting that God has a name is much more foolish than doubting that you have a name. The Catholic Encyclopedia, Volume 8, 1910 edition, page 329, notes the correctness of using âÂÂJehovahâ in English when it states: âÂÂJehovah, the proper name of God in the Old Testament.â The King James Version to say at Psalm 83:18: âÂÂThat men may know that thou, whose name alone is JEHOVAH, art the most high over all the earth.
We encourage people to read their Bible. The answers that it gives often surprises people.
. To be truly happy in this crazy world we need to be close to our Creator and find out how He wants to be worshipped not what is convenient for us. If you would like to learn more my e address is Loretta Mundus at G mail dot com.
