Lori's Story
Life
Hi 1981 Classmates!
To somewhat update you on my life, I am married to Vincent De La Rosa. We have been married for 26 years as of October 27, 2016. He is hysterically funny and extremely handy and just an all around great guy. I have a son from a previous relationship. His name is Jason and he is 33 years old as of April 2016. He is a Highland High School graduate as well. He lives and works in Arizona for the IT division at the main headquarters of UTI making more money than I care to know about (as I'm jealous but very proud). He is my only child due to the unfortunate circumstances of having to have a total hysterectomy at a young age. I am just grateful that I was able to at least have my son before that happened.
Anyway, I lived in Highland for most of my years after graduation with the exception of moving to Omaha, Nebraska for a couple of years due to my husband having a great job offer there. However, the company flopped and we were able to move back to the area.... We now reside in a nice home in Merrillville. I'm so happy to be back near family and friends again! :)
Unfortunately, I have some ongoing health issues. One permanent issue being Vestibular Disorder. It is damage to the inner ear which messes with your equilibrium. Unfortunately, both of my inner ears are damaged; and therefore, I am off balance all the time. I also get dizzy quite often and get periodic dizzy spells as well. I'm not sure if it has anything to do with my migraines though... But I do suffer from migraines quite often too. Due to these health iss...Expand for more
ues, I am no longer working. As for my hubby, he works as a Service Technician at Tronics America right here in Merrillville... Only about 5-10 minutes away from home. He travels quite often to either fix, install and/or train on a labeling machine. He really loves his job and they totally depend on him and his "out of the box" "McGyver" skills in getting different machines to work the way the customer wants it to run.
We have three (3) rescue dogs: Cody, Tucker and Lexi... All Lab mixes. We just love all our fur babies and just couldn't imagine life without them! We have already lost five dogs in our lifetime together; but we just keep getting new, adopted rescues.
I used to keep busy doing a lot with, and for, my Dad (Pops, as I called him). Unfortunately, he passed away June 7, 2013. A part of me died when he died. He was not only my Dad but my very best friend! I can't even begin to convey the extreme pain and heartache that I still feel. I loved him soooo much and am having an extremely hard time living my life without him. Since losing my Mom 25 years ago, he had been my lifeline. But now I'm left parentless and feeling quite alone, sad and depressed. I can only hope and pray that this will get easier in time. As for now, it still cuts like a knife and sends me to tears most days.
Well, that's all for now. I will try and keep in touch via updating my Bio from time to time.... Which isn't too often since Facebook has taken over my life instead. So, maybe just look me up there! Otherwise, bye for now and take care everyone! :)
