Lori's Story
I share my home with my husband, son, granddaughter, 7 cats, and 1 sugar glider, which I find divine!.
My first job was at The Best Western Inn when I was 17, where I got paid $3.23 an hour to make beds and scrub toilets!. What I remember most about it is one morning about 6:45 am I was waiting for two guys about 35 years old to check out of their room. While one was still inside, the other came out and asked me what he could get for $20! I was pissed that this asshole thought I would give him a sexual favor and I told him to bugger off. After they left I thought about it and it dawned on me...that ass only offered me 20 bucks! Cool thing is he left his bridge/partial plate on the night stand so chucked it in the garbage. I remember Alturas like most kids did...small but safe. Had lots of fun at the park from kindergarten through high school. Over-nighters at Tracy's, Laura's, Holly's and the Bushey's. Hangin' at the "Frosty" and movies at "the showhouse". Riding my ten speed, liking boys that didn't like me, partying at Woody's and out in the county. Sittin' on Main High (gettin' high), 4-wheeling with the crazy Primorac boys, riding horses on the ranches. Swimming at Dorris Reservoir and at "the pool". Cruising Main for hours and stealing my mom's car to do it. Hating school but loving some of my teachers. Looked forward to the once a month trip to K-Falls for shopping at the mall, McDonald's and a drive in movie. I really did enjoy living there as a kid.
