Lori's Story

Life I am married to Dana Bloodsworth and live in Oxford. My home is right next to numerous hiking trails, which is great since I enjoy hiking to quiet places. We had our first child on February 25, 2005. His name is Christian Aidan. Being a mom is the most rewarding experience of my life. I graduated from Jacksonville State in 1996 with a degree in secondary education history and English and from Alabama in 2001 with a masters in English and reading.I then went back for a masters add-on to Jacksonville State University and graduated in 2008 with a certification in library science. I worked at Winterboro High School in Talladega County for nine years; I taught middle and high school English. Now I am the media specialist at Childersburg Middle School. I work with grades five through eight. I enjoy my work very much because I never know what challenges each day will bring. My job is diverse and extremely interesting. I previously served as the varsity cheeleading sponsor for six years at Winterboro. Now I am a member of Talladega County's twenty-first century learning group. We strive to impleme...Expand for more
nt cutting-edge technology in our classrooms. I am a member of First United Methodist Church of Anniston. On a sadder note, my mom has passed away from Alzheimer's Disease. She died on November 16, 2008. She was part of research studies at UAB. Please visit our virtual vigil site at the Alzheimer's Association website and search for the Rosemary Edmondson White memorial. They are filed under the first name. I encourage you to make a donation to help bring an end to this dreadful disease. We have almost met half of our $3,000 goal. She voluteered to be a "guinea pig" to help others learn more about the disease. She had wonderful doctors. She would have wanted people to remember her by fighting back against this disease through support of research to find a cure. I cherish every moment I had with her. As I grow older and more mature, I realize that teaching will not define me as a person. What will define me as a person is the time I have spent with my friends and family. I have tried to be a good wife, mother, and daughter. I only hope that my mother will be proud of my accomplishments.
