Lori's Story
Life
Alan & I are very happily married {FINALLY} and taking life as it comes our way. We stay relatively active, albeit mostly forced activity as we have to chase after 2 small children often. I am still easy going, happy-go-lucky. Most people will remember me as being part of a pair in school - my twin sister Lisa (yes, identical, and she is 2 minutes older than me}. She still lives in New Jersey, with her husband and 3 children, and is doing well. I have 2 older children from a previous marriage and they are off building their adult lives. One lives close by with his wife and the other is in college out-of-state and will graduate in December 2008. My oldest is in the Navy Reserves in addition to his full time job. I have a beautiful 2 year-old granddaughter and a grandson due around December 15th. Alan's oldest is in college out-of-state and will be graduating nursing school soon. Alan's next oldest graduated high school this year and his youngest is doing well in the third grade. We are very proud of all of them.
College
University of Maryland, Misawa AB Japan - Japanese History
Okaloosa-Walton Community College (Now known as Okaloosa-Walt...Expand for more
on College) - Anatomy & Physiology 1&2, Computer Literacy, Human Growth & Development, Psychology, Elements of Nutrition, Medical Terminology.
Pensacola Junior College - Emergency Medical Technician Basic and Emergency Medical Technician Paramedic.
Continuing Education - Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Basic Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, Basic Trauma Life Support, Hazardous Materials Training, Weapons of Mass Destruction Training, all are every two years except BTLS - which is every 3 years.
In addition to the French I learned in high school, I have also learned how to read and speak Japanese but unfortunately have lost some of that due to lack of use. The Japanese language is still very fascinating to me though, especially the fact that even "Western Words" are "adopted" into their language and sometimes changed to nearly beyond Western Ears' recognition.
Currently enrolled in Excelsior College for their Registered Nursing Program.
Workplace
I work as a Paramedic in the Florida Panhandle (Pensacola/Pensacola Beach/Escambia County).
Military
I went into the NJ Air National Guard in June of 1982. I did the usual 4 years.
