Lori's Story
After two very rewarding careers in education and social work, I have been focusing on my own needs, exploring hobbies and areas of interest that I never took the time for. I have battled bipolar disorder just like my dad and my grandfather have. Now, I take medication, see a psychiatrist, receive counseling and at times, casemanagement services. age client to manage alone. I suspect that my work places were a bit apprehensive about me. But I know I can count on my hometown friends to back me up: I had a personality and lots of friends!
Without my sense of humor, I would still be homeless, on food stamps, Medicaid, and other governmental subsidies. Instead, I took responsibility for my plight and made things better by relocating from Virginia to New York. Nobody can do it for you.
