Lori's Story
Life
Married to a usually wonderful man. Beautiful 17 year old daughter. Farm. 8 horses, 1 dog, 1 cat and an aquarium full of fish. Love my job 4 out of 5 days each week. Life in general...so far so good! Advance a few years 2015..still married to same man, daughter is now 26. I am currently working at a Veteran's Administration hospital taking care of America's heroes. Gardening on our little 20 acre farm this summer and riding my Harley Softail Deluxe. At age 56 I got a wild hair to get my own motorcycle and I have been riding ever since. I still ride on the back with my husband once in awhile. Update June 2017. Still married to same man. Daughter is beautiful and doing great.Has a wonderful manfriend Neil. No grandchild yet. Ride a Harley Softail Deluxe .RN at VA hospital. Just got a new kayak Malibu Stealth 12. Working and enjoying life. 2018.. Will turn 64 in August. Still married to Chuck. March 14, 2018 will be our 30 year anniversary. Still riding my Harley, hiking, fishing and enjoying good health . Daughter Christen is beautiful and still in a relationship with Neil. Lost my Mom last year in November. Life is good and I hope it is the same for anyone reading this.

40plus years as an RN. The pandemic has made retirement a little dull. No concerts or travel that we had planned this past year. Still married to Chuck. Daughter Christen is working and has a man friend Blake. No grandchildren. I volunteer giving vaccines with a group called Nurses Crushing Covid.. I have been vaccinated. My daughter had Covid and still has some mild "long hauler" symptoms. She is doing great other than that. Nothing serious thank goodness. Can't wait for good weather so I can get the Harley out on the road.
Workplace
A few different jobs and college beginnings and endings between 1972 and 1978. Went to school to become an LPN so I could be a scrub nurse in surgery. Found my career love (the Operating Room) and went on to get my RN. I have worked in the same hospital since 1981. In 1988 I advanced to becomming the Nurse Educator for the department of Surgical Services. After a few years (1992 I think) I advanced to my current position. I am currently the Assistant Director of Surgical Services. 2015 VA Hospital Med-Surg Telemetry Unit last 7 years. Love it! 2018 RN Veterans Hospital System of the Ozarks. working here since 2009 and still loving it. I work Monday through Friday, 8 hour day shift.
