Lori's Story
Life
After high school, I attended NIU where I earned a B.A. in English/Technical Writing. I am currently working on my M.S. in Technical and Scientific Writing. I work for an aerospace company in the River North section of Chicago. I live in Sycamore, so I have the best of both worlds: living in the country and working in the city.
I am an FAA Certification and Documentation Specialist, a highfalutin-sounding title that just barely fits on my business card. Basically, I make sure that my company follows all the FAA conformity rules when designing and manufacturing our components. This is a very good job for a person who is a control-freak like me. components, so I spend a lot of time in a lab environment. I can't wait for my next vacation.
My husband Chris is from DHS class of 1988. We live in Sycamore and have a few "non-human" children including two crabby felines and an entitlement-poisoned black labrador, all shelter rescues. They are the lights of our lives and bring us much joy. When we are not basking in the love of our animals, we love to cruise on our Harley Davidson soft-tail custom in the summer and ride our Yamaha snowmobiles in the winter. We both are accomplished ATV riders and spend lots of time riding our ATVs in the summer as well.
I went to the 10 year reunion and it was fun to see who was fat, pregnant or both! At the 15 year reunion, we'll have to see who got Botox or who needs it!
